Description | Round shallow basket with flat base and widely flaring sides, woven in coiled technique over bundle foundation; Warp material is bear grass stems and primary weft material is split, sun bleached yucca leaves; Designs are woven of black devil's claw pods and consist of black circular area in center with four elongated tabs radiating outward approx. 8 cm in a whirlwind pattern; Two parallel rectilinear zigzag bands encircle the sides of the basket, forming a maze-like pattern; 4 additional elongated bars are pendant from the rim, extending down sides of the basket; Final rim coil is completely woven in black devil's claw. | |
