Description | Round flat wall plaque woven in coiled technique over bundle foundation; Warp material is bear grass stems and primary weft material is split, sun bleached yucca leaves; Rim coil terminates with small loop that is coil-wrapped in yucca for hanging plaque on wall; Design is woven of black devil's claw pods and consists of "man in maze" or "on the way to elder brother's house" pattern, consisting of a maze pattern that radiates out from the center (representing elder brother's house) and a small human figure near the rim and opposite the opening to the maze. | |
