Description | Round nearly flat wall plaque, woven entirely in coiled technique over small bundle coils; Warp material is galleta grass stems and weft material is natural and vegetal dyed split yucca leaves; Small coil-wrapped loop for hanging plaque on wall is woven into final bundle coil on reverse; Geometric design consists of two black elongated bars and two red terraced triangles outlined in black and radiating out from center, all enclosed within large terraced star shape, with two wide red arms outlined in black surround the central triangles and two narrower yellow (probably originally green) arms outlined in black surrounding the central black bars; Overall background is natural tan color. | |
