Description Deep round basket with slightly convex base and nearly vertical sides, woven entirely in wicker technique over multiple warps; Warp material is probably sumac stems and weft material is natural and vegetal dyed rabbitbrush stems; At the rim, one warp stem in each warp group is bent over and incorporated into a rim bundle that is coil-wrapped in undyed yucca leaves; Base of basket is undecorated; Design on sides consists of blue and natural colored checkerboard band around lower sides, followed by concentric bands in blue, rust brown, and gold, all of which are broken into segments by vertical columns of undyed weft fibers, and also separated by segments of gold and black bands; This design is unusual in its extensive use of undyed weft fibers and its subdued colors.
