| Description | Rug woven entirely in plain tapestry weave; Borderless design consists of three horizontal design bands, each of them showing a row of dark brown triangles outlined in white and arranged along the length of a dark brown line; The background of each panel is a series of alternating gray and tan bands, with a dark brown separating adjacent panels; Plain straight-edged red band is located along each end of the rug; Traces of orange, red, and natural brown end cords and of tan selvage cords are still evident; Collected by American artist Maynard Dixon (1875-1946) prior to 1940. | |
