Ladle with large round bowl with rounded base and flaring sides and wide flat handle attached to rim; Rim form of bowl is straight with rounded lip; Interior and exterior of bowl are scraped smooth and slipped white; End of handle is perforated and interior is grooved; Interior of bowl is painted with bilaterally symmetrical design; Heavy black framing line outlines lip, including handle; Collected by American artist Maynard Dixon (1875-1946) prior to 1940. |
