Description Bag made from the lower portion of elk legs with fur and dew claws intact; A second piece of elk hide is sewn to top to create neck; Hide fringe borders neck; Back is scraped of fur; Wide hide lace is looped on back to form a handle; Bag is edged with commercially woven fabric; Collected by American artist Maynard Dixon (1875-1946) prior to 1940.
