| Description |
Model consisting of cotton cloth stretched over hard leather; Inverted "U" shaped top tapering to point; Cloth stitched with cotton string to form a bag to hold doll; Top panel is beaded in bands of light and dark blue, red, green and yellow with yellow border; Cotton loops, extending from panel are beaded in red, white and blue; Leather fringe extends on back from top; Hood is covered with red woolen fabric; Green woolen fabric stitched with purple and yellow ribbon at opening and down front seam; Baby is covered in fabric with painted features; Collected by American artist Maynard Dixon (1875-1946) prior to 1940. |
