| Description |
Trapezoidal pouch constructed of two pieces of tanned hide stitched with sinew; Back piece extends over front to create flap; Flap is edge beaded in blue, orange and red; Flap is beaded in lazy stitch with geometric patterns of parallelograms and equilateral triangles; Front of pouch is beaded with zigzag patterns in orange, blue, red, white and black; Hide fringe at bottom is tipped with tin cones; Three hide slats on either side and edge beaded in red and white and tipped with blue and green beading and fringe; Collected by American artist Maynard Dixon (1875-1946) prior to 1940. |
