Description Trapezoidal pouch made from two pieces of hide stitched together with sinew; Back piece folded over front to create mouth flap which can be closed with brass button at front; Front beaded in wide lanes of lazy stitch; Design consists of white background with rows of red or black diamonds, attached tip to tip; Row second from top is green on red; Hide fringe, tipped with tin cones, affixed to bottom seam; Fringe at far ends is longer and beaded with large hexagonal cobalt-colored beads; Lace handle at back; Collected by American artist Maynard Dixon (1875-1946) prior to 1940.
