Description Hard leather sole attached to tanned hide upper with thread; Upper is constructed with single piece of hide; Tongue is separate and attached to upper with thread; Seam is covered by a scalloped piece of hide; Ankle is cuffed with brown velveteen; Hide lace at front of ankle; Upper is beaded in overlay stitch with a "keyhole" motif in blue, red and yellow; Background in unbeaded; Collected by American artist Maynard Dixon (1875-1946) prior to 1940.
