Description Hard sole attached to upper of tanned hide with sinew; Hide strip added at cuff; Zigzag cut tongue is separate; Hide lace threaded around ankle; Upper is fully beaded in lazy stitch across vamp, instep, sides and heel and undecorated on ankle, cuff and tongue; Triangular spaces on vamp (buffalo tracks) beaded in blue with stacked crosses in white red and metallic beads; Remaining space beaded in lavender with stepped triangles in red and yellow; Painted sole suggests previous use as parfleche; Collected by American artist Maynard Dixon (1875-1946) prior to 1940.
