Description A: 3-dimensional carved figurine in standing position, representing Koyaala (Koshari) (Hano Clown), who appears with others of his kind to provide amusement during pauses in the katsina dances and whose outrageous behaviors usually go beyond the usual limits; Figure's body is completely painted in black and white horizontal bands; He wears brown moccasins, black felt breechclout, black wool garters and wristlets, red and green wool hair ties, and small leather pouch around his neck; Black and white horns extending up from top of head mask have bits of white wool yarn at their tips; B: Miniature Chinle style Navajo rug (held in hands of katsina CAS 1990-0001-0078A); Woven entirely in plain tapestry technique; Borderless design consists of paired parallel lines alternating with paired columns of stacked parallelograms; Design motifs are woven in brown on a white background.
