Description | Round tray with wide flat base and very shallow flaring sides, woven in close-spaced and split stitch coiled technique over bundle foundation; Warp material is bear grass stems and weft material is split sun bleached yucca leaves; Center of basket is woven in close-spaced stitches for several coils, and remainder of base is woven split stitches that form a design of spaced lines that radiate outward to juncture of base and sides; Design on sides consists of 11 blocks of closely spaced split stitches and a long single stitch diagonally spanning the space between adjacent blocks. | |
