A: Roughly rectangular mat woven of narrow bamboo strips in open wicker work technique; Edges wrapped in bundled banana plant that is wrapped in white banyan root and bound with aloe fiber (?) cordage; Two braided aloe fiber carrying straps are tied to edging and pass under foundation mat; B: Roughly rectangular mat woven in closed twill pattern (mostly 2/2 with two areas of 3/3) with self-binding selvages along three sides; Used to pad interior of CAS 1991-0012-0002A. |
