| Description | Small round basket with wide flat base and low flaring sides, woven in coiled technique over a bundle foundation; Warp material is bear grass stems and primary weft material is peeled and split willow shoots; Designs are woven of black devil's claw pods and include solid black round motif in center of base and solid black line around perimeter of base; Around the sides are 5 black triangles pendant from the base and 5 more pendant from the rim, with adjacent triangles joined together by a black "S" motif, giving the overall appearance of a negative rectilinear fret; Final rim coil is decorated with diagonal overstitch of black devil's claw pods. | |
