Description Rectangular basket with flat base, vertical sides, high flat shoulder, short neck, and oval mouth, along with corresponding oval, flat-topped lid with short sides that fit over the basket's rim; Warp material in basket and lid is cedar bark; Base of basket is woven in simple plaiting technique, using equal-sized cedar bark slats for both the warp and weft; Two rows of plain twining encircle the perimeter of the base; Remainder of basket and entire lid are woven in wrapped twining technique, using bear grass leaves as the weft; Single wide cedar bark slat encircles top of basket, forming a short neck and oval mouth, over which the warps are bent and bound into the final row of twining; Twined rows above the rim slat are done in plain twining technique and use cedar bark for the weft; All designs are woven of dyed bear grass leaves and include composite light green and purple band with widely spaced pendant purple chevrons around the mid-section of the basket, and a composite light green and purple band with a band of small contiguous purple triangles along the lower sides and along the shoulder; Design on top and sides of lid consists of 4 concentric purple bands.
