Description Transitional period rug woven entirely in plain tapestry weave; Central design of concentric serrated diamonds in black and white is flanked on either side by wide, white vertical zigzag line, all enclosed within black terraced zigzag box and all on red background; Entire rug is framed along all four edges with black border with terraced inside edge; Smaller spaces in design field contain pictorial elements of bows and arrows in dark blue, black, and white, and geometric elements including short columns of concentric diamonds, or rectangles that are half white and half black; Supplementary red and black yarns are sewn into corners as tassels; Both selvage and end cords are black.
