Description | A: Slit drum carved out of large log, carved on both sides with the front having a carved area specifically for impact of stick; Designs on front and back are similar; Human faces on each end in relief and colored in red and white, area between faces is carved and painted red and white; Left end has a grip carved in shape of a turtle (?) head and ancestor mask, right grip in shape of crocodile head; B,C: Supports for slit drum, each carved separately from cylindrical log, terminating at the top in a triangular shaped face on either side and with the top of the faces being concave to support the drum. | |
