Description Rectangular wrap-around skirt woven of very fine pandanus strips in plaiting technique; Skirt is woven in two panels that are then woven together down center; Warp and weft fibers are folded over and woven back into mat along all four sides, except for final 8 to 10 cm along sides where they continue as very long fringe; Plaiting technique is primarily 1/1, with zigzag line of small holes woven into both ends of skirt; All-over pattern of natural colored concentric diamonds on maroon red background is created with resist dye process.
