Description | Rectangular picture frame made from four strips of wood that are nailed together at each corner; Open front is fitted with piece of clear glass; Open reverse is fitted with piece of corrugated cardboard held in place by 6 silver metal hinges that can be swung to the side to remove cardboard and change piece of framed artwork; Edges of wooden frame are also fitted with two notched metal bars for hanging frame on wall in either horizontal or vertical position; Paper imprinted with instructions for using frame and information about American Artists Group is glued to back of cardboard insert; This frame was sold by the American Artists’ Group with or without framed prints or cards by member artists, including Native Alaskan artist, George Ahgupuk; The frames were designed to allow for easily changing the artwork that was being displayed. | |
