Description Handheld rattle carved in two halves, with each section including portion of both the rattle and the handle; The two halves are probably glued together and the edges of the rattle portion are also tied together in four places with cotton string; Front of rattle is carved in the form of a stylized human with large black eyes set within very large blue sockets and framed above by heavy black eyebrows; A very pronounced and beaked nose with exaggerated red nostrils extends out from the face; The open mouth is framed within red lips and shows a double row of carved but unpainted teeth; Back portion of rattle and handle are not decorated with any additional carving.
