| Description | Small wooden box carved in the shape of a highly stylized, plump bird that is probably in flight; After the basic shape of the bird was cut from a flat piece of wood, it was carefully split to form two halves, and then the center of each was minimally hollowed out to form an interior compartment; Edges of upper half or lid of box are rounded and a single shallow incised lines depicts the bird’s wings and a single brad or possible insert of dark wood serves as the eye, but otherwise the box is undecorated. | |
