Description Whisk brush used to strain the tea leaves from the steeped tea during a Tea Ceremony; Made from a short segment of a bamboo rod of which one end has been carefully carved into numerous and very thin shavings or petals like the bristles of a brush; The bases of these bristles (where they remain attached to the original bamboo rod) are twined with several wrappings of fine string, causing every other bristle to fold inward and giving the final brush the appearance of an unfolding flower.
