Description | Oval hat with a pseudo brim and a somewhat peaked dome, woven on exterior of very finely split and plaited light and dark brown pandanus strips, forming a pattern of swirling and overlapping light and dark bands; Crown is surmounted by tuft of red wool yarn; Interior is lined with single layer of coiled cane rods, some of which are individually wrapped in red, yellow or blue (faded to gray) wool yarn; Separately woven headrest ring is also attached to interior. | |
