Description | Rectangular mat woven entirely in simple diagonal plaiting, using equal-sized dyed red warp and weft fibers; Both warp and wefts are folded over at each end and then woven in the opposite direction, forming a self selvage; Along the sides, only one set of fibers is folded over to form the selvage, while the other side is left extending to form a short fringe that was probably trimmed to a uniform length. | |
