Description | Probable staff carved from a single piece of wood, with a shaft that is nearly round at its proximal end but becomes more oval shaped toward the distal end; The expanded distal end is carved in the form of a flattened, lily-like flower whose petals are marked all over on the exterior with small carved triangles; On one face of the flower the triangles are arranged in rows and all point in the same direction, while on the opposite face some of the triangles oppose each other and are arranged in three distinct diagonal lines; Entire staff has probably been stained a dark brown. | |
