Description | Woven mask in the form of a highly stylized human face, woven in a combination of closed and open single rod coiled technique; Oval-shaped face has very prominent ridge running down center of mask from top to bottom; Face is woven mostly in close spaced coils except for open areas above and below the eyes and at the mouth area; Face is surmounted by elaborate open weave headdress comprising several concentric bands of increasing size; Entire mask is woven of natural colored fibers. | |
