Description Wide Ruins Navajo-style rug, woven entirely in tapestry weave; Borderless design consists of four horizontal design bands alternating with five plain bands; The design bands all contain the same design motif of a row of conjoined terraced diamonds, with the band at each end done in gold, white, light and dark gray on a light background, while the two center design bands are done in beige, white, and rose-tinged brown on a pale green background; Each of the plain bands consists of a narrow black and white or gray and white wavy Crystal-weave band on a plainweave gold background; Twining and selvage cords are woven of contrasting light gray wool yarns; This rug design is copied from a rug by Nellie Roan, published in Arizona Highways magazine (July 1974, p. 17, #WE-25).
