Two Grey Hills Navajo-style rug, woven in tapestry weave, with bold central design of a single series of concentric and terraced diamonds in white, medium brown, medium gray, and black, all on a medium gray background; Central design is flanked on either side by geometric units in medium brown and black; Medium gray “spirit line” is located in upper right corner; Rug is bordered on all four edges by single straight-edged black border; Twining and selvage cords are woven in matching black yarns; This was first Navajo-style rug woven by Margaret Shuffrey. |
