Description Very finely woven Burntwater Navajo-style rug, woven in tapestry weave, with central design of double series of concentric, terraced diamonds, in colors of mauve, gold, pale green, and medium brown; Within each series of concentric diamonds are four smaller diamonds in colors of pink, rose, and light gray; Central designs are framed on either side by geometric units in colors of pink, light gray, medium brown, and a slightly lighter shade of brown, all on a tan background; Tan “spirit line” is located in upper left corner (all other rugs woven by Margaret and Tony Shuffrey have the “spirit line” in the upper right corner); Rug is bordered along all edges by triple border; Innermost border is mauve colored and is terraced along sides by straight edged along both ends; Center pale green border and outermost medium brown border are straight-edged along all sides; Twining and selvage cords are woven in tan colored yarns that match background color; NOTE: This is the same design as that of CAS 2007-0001-0027 and clearly shows the relationship between Two Grey Hills and Burntwater style Navajo rugs.
