Extremely finely woven Two Grey Hills Navajo-style rug, woven in tapestry weave, with large central design of concentric terraced diamonds in colors of light gray, black, medium brown, and white, all on a light gray background; Narrow white border is straight-edged along top and bottom and forms paired terraced motifs along sides that resemble the “Mitten” formations in Monument Valley (the formations themselves are woven in dark gray, with the white outlining their outer edges), all on a black background; White “spirit line” extends out from narrow white border to edge in upper right corner; Twining and selvage cords are woven in matching black yarns. |
