Description | Narrow band bracelet woven entirely of split pandanus leaves; Foundation consists of a single wide pandanus leaf whose ends overlap to form a loop; To weave the bracelet, two split pandanus leaves (each one-third the width of the foundation leaf inside the bracelet) are laid parallel to each other on outside of bracelet, forming the warp fibers; The three warp fibers and the foundation leaf are then coil wrapped by an even narrower pandanus leaf; On outside of bracelet, the weft fiber passes over and under the warp fibers on alternate coils. | |
