| Description | Large round sifter basket woven entirely in natural-colored yucca leaves in a plaiting technique; An over-3 / under-3 sequence used throughout basket (with occasional lapses to maintain pattern) produces an all-over pattern of interlocking and concentric diamonds; Warp and weft fibers are turned up around rim and folded over a heavy wooden hoop (made from an unpeeled willow (?) rod whose ends overlap) and then secured to themselves with additional yucca twining; Overall color is yellow. | |
