Description | Round sifter basket woven entirely of yucca leaves in a plaiting technique, forming an overall pattern of concentric crosses, utilizing the contrasting colors of the outer(yellow or green) and inner (white) sides of the yucca leaves; At the rim, warp and weft fibers are folded over a sumac or willow rod and the ends secured by two strips of yucca that are woven in twining technique; Overlapping ends of rim rod are wrapped with short length of gray plastic-coated tape. | |
