Description | Pair of lacquered papier mache Noh theater-style masks depicting a white-faced, smiling woman with plump, rosy cheeks and a second individual with flesh-toned skin, large eyes, and an open mouth (as if whistling), both joined together but opposite each other by a strip of brown paper edged in green ribbon, allowing the two masks to be squeezed together like an accordion, and thus producing a faint whizzing sound though a small hole in the chin of the second mask. | |
