Description |
Pair of dance fans held in the hands by women while dancing; Each fan consists of a a circular disk that is woven in a coiled weave, using natural beach grass over a bundle of beach grass stems; Two outermost coils extend outward on one side to form the handle of each fan; Each fan is woven with a negative star design on a red background; Narrow strip of caribou hide with hair still attached is sewn along bottom edge of each fan, opposite the handle. |
