Description Contemporary kapa wall hanging, titled “’Ia ‘Oe E Ka La,” (To You, The Sun) made from piece of kapa cut from underskirt of hula skirt made by donor in 2009 for hula competition in Hawaii; This piece has been hand printed on front face with circular pattern in center, surrounded by four partial circles of same design, all in dark brown to black (dye derived from California black walnut hulls), then backed with a piece of commercial red print cotton cloth, and finally machine quilted.
