Description | Earth pigment painting entitled “Totem Fish†on flat, rectangular piece of eucalyptus bark, depicting one large fish, surrounded by two smaller fish above it and two smaller fish and a tadpole (?) below it; Each figure is painted reddish brown and outlined in white; The largest fish and one of those at the top are also painted with alternating white, rust brown, and dark brown bands along the mid-sections of their bodies; Background of painting is black, and entire painting is framed by narrow brown band and two parallel white lines; Top and bottom edges of bark panel are somewhat rounded. | |
