Description | Rectangular Crystal-style rug woven entirely in plain weft-faced tapestry technique with non-interlocking joins; Borderless, banded design consists of plain, wavy Crystal-weave, and design horizontal bands, predominately in shades of yellow; Each end begins with plain bands in medium brown, pale yellow, and white; Next are two bands woven in wavy Crystal-weave technique in gold and white or gold and yellow: Center of rug shows a design band (repeated 4 times) of contiguous arrow shapes (pale yellow, light and medium brown, and white) alternating with double bands woven in wavy Crystal-weave technique; Selvage and end cords are gray. This rug was awarded a red second place ribbon at the 1982 New Mexico State Fair, Albuquerque, NM. | |
