Description Large rectangular Crystal style rug woven entirely in plain weft-faced tapestry technique with interlocking joins; Banded, borderless design consists of a band of diamonds joined by double lozenges that is repeated six times; The bands at each end are woven in dark and light gray on a tan background, while the other four bands are woven in medium brown and light gray on a tan background; Alternating with the design bands is a less decorative band that includes a central band woven in beading technique in several 2-color combinations (medium gray and yellow; light gray and dark brown; dark gray and gold; mauve and dark brown; light and dark gray; rust brown and golden mustard; and dark gray and brown mustard); Each beaded panel is flanked on either side by a line of white-tipped gray or dark brown feather designs on a brown mustard background; Plain dark gray band is woven along each end of rug; Selvage cords are light gray; End cords are mustard colored. Crystal style rugs usually have wavy pattern bands, where this one has the beaded bands and those with feather designs.
