Description | Adze blade made by pecking and grinding piece of tridacna shell to a somewhat rectangular shape that is flat on both faces; Proximal end is rounded and roughly chipped, while lateral edges are ground smooth; Proximal end is squared off and has been unifacially ground thin to form steeply angled cutting edge; Color is off-white; For use in canoe building, this blade would have been hafted to a wooden handle. | |
