Description Round tin-lined copper tea kettle with flat base riveted to rounded sides; Short tapering cylindrical spout with its own hinged cover is attached to upper sides of kettle; Movable, arched handle is attached at opposite sides of kettle, just below rim; Image of peacock and clouds are embossed on sides of kettle and inlaid in tin with additional details etched or stamped; Six separate crescent-shaped pieces of copper are positioned around the rim and attached with rivets; Handle is embossed and decorated with pierced cross motif at its center; Separate lid for kettle is nearly flat with low sides that fit inside rim of kettle; Top of lid is decorated with four additional copper pieces that repeat the etched designs below the rim of the kettle; Knob handle in center of lid is also embossed and pierced; Japanese hallmark is stamped on base of kettle.
