Description Round teapot with flat base, low squat body with rounded sides and low shoulder, surmounted by tall cylindrical neck that tapers very slightly toward mouth; Single upright and curved spout is attached to shoulder of teapot’s body and narrows in its diameter as it rises; Curved, immovable stirrup-shaped handle is attached two protruding flanges on opposite sides of the neck, just below rim; Separate flat lid with low lip to fit inside teapot’s mouth is surmounted with pierced finial; Shoulder of teapot is embossed with leaf and vine motif in very low relief, which also extends up lower portion of neck; Remainder of neck is embossed with groups of four vertical lines that are repeated ten times around the neck; Used to heat water for tea.
