Materials Natural and sun-bleached pandanus strips; Shells; Native cordage
Description Rectangular bag woven entirely of plaited pandanus strips in two layers -- wide pandanus strips on interior and narrow strips on exterior; Exterior layer on back side of bag extends beyond top of bag and is folded over to form a flap on the front; Pair of small shells are tied to flap with native cordage, corresponding to pair of cordage loops that are threaded through lower front section of bag, in order to secure the flap; All-over design on exterior of bag consists of network of large contiguous open squares woven of undyed pandanus against a background of lighter colored sun-bleached pandanus.
