Description | Deep square basket with flat base, vertical sides, and wide, round mouth; Basket is essentially made from a single sheet of birch bark that has been trimmed and folded to shape, with the overlapping joins secured with willow root lashings; Natural white exterior color of the bark faces outward; Several separate bark strips overlap each other around the exterior rim and are secured with a single rod (or possible small bundle of rods) around the rim that is coil-wrapped with willow roots. | |
