Carved male monkey figure depicting a Ulithi, a guardian to protect the spirits of the dead; Carved from single piece of dense brown wood, figure squats with legs apart, feet and knees facing forward, and hands on knees; Figure is frowning and has up-turned eyes with rounded bottom and straight top edges made of mother-of-pearl inlay with round, dark painted pupils. |
