Description Small storyboard carved from a single flat, oval-shaped piece of wood; Scene is carved in bas relief and depicts a canoe with alligator prow, with three men rowing in a river that is populated below by two fish; A fourth man is in the canoe with both arms over his head; A fishing net sits in the canoe as well; Several stylized human faces are depicted above, possibly representing different local gods; Details of all carved figures (people’s facial features and clothing, leaves on trees, decorative motifs on canoe, etc.) are accentuated by shallowly incised lines filled with lime; Areas between carved figures are lightly coated with an earth pigment; Plant fiber handle attached through two holes at top of storyboard; Unsigned.
