Description 3-dimensional carved figure representing Hakto (Wood Carrier) katsina, a Zuni katsina who accompanies the Sio Shalako or appears in the Mixed Dance; Round blue head with a small corn cob/husk body; Turquoise mask with three black dots forming facial features; Thick lines of red and yellow represent eyebrows, slightly raised in apparent surprise; Protruding red tab ears; Thick carved neck ruff in black and white block pattern; Body is carved to represent a corn cob with dark green husk at the side and bright yellow exposed kernels outlined in red; Figure stands on a flat, undecorated, rounded wood base; This katsina would have had a horizontal bar balanced on top of its head, now missing, although a slight hole and adhesive residue remain; Signed “Lisa Coochuytewa - Hopi” on bottom.
