Description “Siyangephoya” or Left-Handed katsina (very small hunter katsina); Three-dimensional figure in upright action position (arms and legs positioned and bent forward as if running); The figure is wearing a black mask with white diamond-shaped eyes and a rectangular mouth (red lips, white teeth);a black and red yarn beard hangs below the mouth; four white stripes run vertically on each side of the head, two on either side of the figure’s red ears; on top of the head are two carved feathers (brown, white, and black) and one real, black feather; He wears a black and white ruff around his neck; the figure’s body is painted white; He is wearing a white, black, red, and green patterned breechclout with a turquoise belt; On the belt is a circular red carving with the image of a paw-print painted in black; there is one turquoise band with red and yellow designs on each upper arm; There are small pieces of red felt tucked underneath these arm bands; there is a carved red and turquoise bracelet on the figure’s left wrist; there are ties made of black yearn on the figure’s right wrist and left knee; He is wearing red moccasins with natural-colored leather fringe around the ankles; Across his chest is a natural-colored leather sash that secures bag made of leather and red felt to his back; he carries a black, red, and white patterned rabbit stick in his right hand; He is standing on a small, circular, unpainted wooden base; Unsigned.
