| Description | Mini basket plaque; Navajo wedding basket design; Round, flat plaque woven in coiled technique over very large bundles; Woven of natural and vegetal dyed split yucca leaves and Devil’s claw; Design consists of a negative pointed star in center, encircled by a solid red band, all on a black background, with a band of pendant terraced black triangles around the top; Design includes a break in the pattern known as the spirit path which points to the end point of the basket's rim and is oriented to the east during a ceremony – it should never point down. | |
