Description |
Round tray-like basket with wide flat base and shallow, slightly flaring sides; Woven in close-spaced and split stitch coiled technique over bundle foundation; Warp material is bear grass stems and weft material is split sun bleached yucca leaves; Center of basket is woven in close-spaced stitches for several coils, and remainder of base is woven split stitches that form a design of spaced lines that radiate outward to juncture of base and sides; Design on sides consists of 1 blocks of closely spaced split stitches and a long single stitch diagonally spanning the space between adjacent blocks. |
